(1) If a person, a victim or a member of his family appearing before the Commission to give a statement, letter or information, requests the Commission for his protection, or even if he does not make such a request, if it is necessary to provide protection to such a person or to a person assisting the Commission or working in the Commission, the Commission shall Appropriate arrangements should be made for the safety of that person.
(2) According to sub-section (1), the Commission may take the assistance of the Government of Nepal as necessary for the protection of any person.
(3) No case or legal action shall be taken against a person merely because he has made a statement or a letter to the Commission or provided any information.
(4) If a person who is present to give a statement, letter or information to the commission requests the actual expenses incurred in coming and going and for food and lodging, the commission may provide reasonable expenses to such person.
(5) If a person who makes a statement or letter to the Commission, or gives any information, information or evidence, wishes to keep his name confidential, the Commission shall keep such person's name confidential.
(6) The Commission may make separate arrangements as specified to facilitate the giving of statements or letters to children, senior citizens, persons with disabilities and persons subjected to sexual violence.
